Powell River - a magical land of nature’s bounty

Getting to Powell River is a choice that requires one or two ferry trips, a boat or a plane. It is, however, one that thousands of people make each year to take part in the vibrant arts community or to fish, hike or explore the multitude of islands, lakes and open ocean.

While it may well be the opportunities provided by nature that initially bring people to Powell River, it is the warmth of the people who live here that bring them back, often to live. At last count there were 1,200 registered groups in the area involved in everything from the arts and sports to meeting the needs of the disabled.
